Exhaust Modifications

Your car is your passion, and it’s ours too. That’s why our goal is to help every client make their dream car a reality.

There are many benefits to upgrading your exhaust system other than just for better sound. Increasing the diameter of your pipes and introducing a decat or a high-flow sports cat can allow your engine to breathe better which means more power!

Stage 2 Modifications

Stage 2 Power Modifications typically require a more aggressive remap, partnered with simple yet effective modifications under the bonnet.

The purpose of a cold air intake is to improve your stock intake      system (which feeds hot air from under your hood directly back into the engine) and instead replace it with colder, denser air from outside the engine compartment.

There are a variety of different styles we can help you pick from to build your dream and achieve the right performance.

  1. Increased Horsepower – around 5 to 20 additional horsepower to your vehicle.
  2. Improved Acceleration – it can reach its intended speed more rapidly when a larger volume of denser air is carried to the engine.
  3. Better Mileage – improved air-to-fuel ratio from enhanced airflow.

For best results, it will need to be partnered with a Stage 2 Remap.

A Decat is the term used when your catalytic converter is removed, however there are other options like High-Flow Sports Catalytic converters.

Catalytic converters obstruct the flow of gaseous waste from the engine. This can create back-pressure on the engine, lowering overall performance. By removing your catalyst, your car can benefit from the smooth flow of exhaust gases, resulting in more horsepower and better performance.

For best results, it will need to be partnered with a Stage 2 Remap.

Fuel Injectors are pretty self explanatory, they inject fuel into the      combustion chamber.

Upgraded Fuel Injectors allow the maintenance of an optimum air to fuel ratio for the car to perform. We recommend these to be fitted alongside a cold air intake, as more air enters the engine this can cause the car to run lean and actually hinder performance.

For best results, it will need to be partnered with a Stage 2 Remap.

All vehicles with Turbo’s or Superchargers will have a cooling system to reduce the temperature of the inlet gas which densifies the air required.

Some cars are fitted with Inter-coolers that use air to cool the air. Whereas some use Charge-coolers which use use water to cool the air.

Upgrading the intercooler on your turbocharged car means more horsepower, consistent performance, and safer operating temperatures.

For best results, it will need to be partnered with a Stage 2 Remap.

Stage 3 Modifications

Stage 3 modifications are typically the highest level of modifications that can be made to a vehicle. These modifications are designed to significantly          increase the performance and power of the vehicle.

Forced Induction is the integration of a Turbocharger or Supercharger, in cases where the car has one of these already, we can supply and fit an upgraded one.

A Turbocharger uses exhaust gases to spin its turbine and the  compressed air produced is then forced into the cylinders which, along with more fuel being injected allows more power to be produced because of the bigger explosion.

A Supercharger is directly connected to the crankshaft, usually by an accessory belt. This belt wraps around a pulley and a drive gear which helps to turn the compressor gear. Once the compressor is spinning there is air being forced into the engine.

When fitting either (or both!) a Stage 3 Remap and upgraded fuel injectors and pump are highly recommended.

  1. Significant increase in horsepower.
  2. Power vs size: allows for smaller engine displacements to produce much more power relative to their size.
  3. Better Acceleration
  4. Higher efficiency: turbochargers run off energy that is typically lost in naturally-aspirated and supercharged engines (exhaust gases), thus the recovery of this energy improves the overall efficiency of the engine.

Upgrading Fuel Pumps, Fuel Lines and Injectors will deliver more fuel to the engine and support higher levels of power.

When you are looking to push more power, especially when increasing the amount of air going to the engine, you want to avoid the car running lean. When there is too much air and not enough fuel this hinders performance.

Recommended highly when upgrading Turbo’s and covered all Stage 2 Modifications with a Stage 3 Remap.

Upgrading engine internals are on the pricier end, however if you want the most out of your car especially to avoid engine damage when pushing for significant power. Forged Engine Internals are a must.

The term “forged internals” generally refers to the engine’s crankshaft, connecting rods, and pistons. These engine components are typically made from cast iron or steel, but can also be made from aluminum or other materials. Forged internals are an upgrade from stock components because they are stronger and can withstand more stress and wear.

Highly Recommended with Stage 3 Remap.

There is no point having power, if the car handles terribly and you can’t stop!

Suspension upgrades like coilovers and lowering springs can be important, as well as anti-roll bars, strut tower braces and high performance tires will also make a hell of a difference to cornering and overall drivability.

High performance brakes are always good to give you the ability to stop with high power.

High performance brakes are a given when upgrading power, they are better at dissipating heat and reducing overall wear allowing you to stop when you want.

Improving suspension parts allow you to be in control of your car, not the other way around. By improving your car’s suspension, you can enjoy a smoother ride, better handling, and increased stability.

FAQ's

We will initially have a consultation to discuss your build and your expectations for power. We can then customise a package that works for you financially and results-wise.

Supplying and fitting costs will vary but all packages include a Remap.

Book in for a health check, where we can diagnose the car of any issues and rectify them.

This is important when modifying a car for power, as the extra strain can cause issues down the line.

Yes, of course! We highly recommend talking us through the parts you have bought or want to purchase so we can give advice and make sure they are the correct parts to send your car to the moon!

Unfortunately not at the moment, but hopefully we will be able to offer them soon!

We always recommend declaring any modifications to your insurance as they may void your insurance or pay you out a lower amount in the event of an accident.

Installing downpipes and high flow catalytic converters can in some cases fail emissions tests on MOT’s, so please be aware    before committing.

All modifications can void dealer warranties.

We will always be happy to remap your car!
